Just a quick note to say I’m hanging up my spurs at the end of July, which, coincidentally, is when I reach full retirement age for Social Security purposes
. Although retirement likely would have happened later this year anyway, funding getting yanked from the contract I was working on forced 27 people to “make other plans”. Due to current life circumstances, contracts requiring an on-site presence aren’t a viable option. The timing, although forced, is going to work out well.
I’ll continue to lurk on the forum, but I’d be lying if I said I planned to become a more active participant. Life in a rural setting (up in Oklahoma) will keep me plenty busy, not to mention taking care of several “deferred maintenance” issues. I will miss San Antonio and all my friends and coworkers (current and former), but these days I’m less able to deal with the downside of living in large urban areas, even one as relatively chill as San Antonio.
Respectfully,
–Bob
